TANKER VETTING

Target Audience

This course aimed to improve knowledge which will enable those Seafarers involved in Vetting, the course specific Vettingprocedures on tankers, the OCIMF Vessel Inspection Questionnaire (VIQ) and the CDI VIQ as well as their potential commercial impact. The course covers the key areas of inspection, how to maintain the vessel in a condition, and how to manage andinteract with inspectors.

Course Content

On successful completion of this course, delegates will be able to:

  • Understand vetting requirement’s (VIQ)
  • Preparing for inspection using SIRE/CDI checklist
  • Conduct of the inspection and working with inspectors
  • Commercial impact and communication with the company
  • Administration and record keeping
  • Common pitfalls and deficiencies from SIRE data base
  • Actions to be taken post inspection
